On September 9 and 10 you will have to be in Portiragnes in Hérault! The city is hosting the 5th edition of the Wind Festival. Kite fans or just the curious, don't miss this aerial and acrobatic show.
This weekend you will be able to observe funny colors and shapes in the sky of Portiragnes. The seaside resort hosts the 5th edition of the wind festival, organized by the founders of R-Sky. On Riviérette beach, it’s the unmissable meeting place for professional flyers, amateurs and beginner pilots… it’s also an opportunity to go out with the family and feast your eyes.
The Wind Festival is a competition where the elite of the world's freestylers compete. Accompanied by their kite, there will be 13 of them competing for 1st place in the final which will take place this Sunday. Apart from the competition (masters), you can also attend demonstrations. Alone or in teams, the kite flyers will use their agility and originality to make their machine twirl around the areas: a ballet not to be missed!
The festival will close with a collective exhibition (megateam) during which around thirty kites will be carried away by the wind.
The festival is also a time to enjoy with family. Young and old alike will be amazed by this unique spectacle. The opportunity to admire giant kites: 36m whales, gigantic octopuses, butterflies which will spread immense wings in the air. You will also be able to witness the take-off of giant silhouettes and sails. The view will definitely be breathtaking!
Manual activities are also offered. Children will be able to express their artistic talent during the kite-making workshop and why not discover their talent as a pilot! Ready for takeoff?
