5-star or 3-star camping? It's difficult to choose if you don't know which camping site best fits your expectations. The official classification of campsites from 1 to 5 stars is here to help you.
French people are increasingly choosing camping for their family holidays. Outdoor hospitality is constantly evolving to meet the growing demand. Since 2012, a new official classification (from 1 to 5 stars) allows travelers to navigate through an increasingly diverse range of options and book their holidays with confidence. But it's hard to make a decision when you're not sure what the star ratings of a campsite mean. The editorial team of Club Farret will help you understand what lies behind the stars of a camping site!
It's important to note that outdoor hospitality is different from traditional hotels. Comparing a camping site to a hotel is not straightforward because they offer different vacation experiences.
Additionally, official campsite classifications are mainly aimed at campers. For them, the star ratings are crucial when choosing a camping site. These stars guarantee the quality of the pitches, including their size, comfort, water, and electricity facilities. In Vias Plage, in the Hérault region, we offer pitches with sea views and direct access to the beach.
Please note that the star rating of a campsite only applies to the quality of the pitches. It doesn't include the quality of the accommodations.
Outdoor hospitality chains generally provide their own classification for assessing the quality of accommodations. As a Yelloh! Village camping site, our accommodations adhere to strict and comprehensive quality standards.
At Yelloh! Village, accommodations are classified from 2 to 4 flowers based on their equipment and comfort. The highest-quality accommodations are considered "premium" lodgings. This classification applies to all campgrounds within the group, offering our clients a well-structured, clear, and organized range of options.
Club Farret is a 5-star camping site located in Vias Plage. Our stars are awarded by Atout France, an independent inspection organization. Every year, an inspector verifies that the campsite meets all classification criteria. Earning 5 stars is no small feat!
Here's a list of the characteristics that a 5-star camping site must have:
A 5-star camping site primarily boasts exceptional facilities. Great care is taken in maintaining the campsite and green spaces. Common areas such as sanitary facilities are comfortable and top-notch.
Contrary to popular belief, swimming pools are not part of the classification criteria. Each campground owner chooses to invest in more or less upscale pool facilities to satisfy travelers. At Club Farret, we offer three swimming pools. The Pirates pool is a space for the whole family, located next to the Pirates Bar. The Tao water park, with its "Thai temple" decor meticulously designed down to the last detail, is ideal for basking in the sun. Finally, the Aquadome is a new indoor pool with slides for fun and enjoyment even in bad weather.
Note: The spa, fitness room, and sports fields are also available.
A comprehensive range of services is available on-site and accessible from the opening to closing of the camping site. On-site, you can enjoy a cocktail in one of our 3 bars, savor a meal in our restaurants, shop at the supermarket, and buy pastries and fresh bread.
A high-end camping site should also allow customers to book their stay online 24/7. A 5-star camping site always has a well-performing website.
Lastly, a 5-star camping site should offer a welcome in at least three foreign languages, including English. Our reception staff are all trilingual or quadrilingual and welcome you in German, English, Dutch, Spanish, Russian, and French. But more than just a welcome in your language, at Club Farret, we offer a quality and personalized welcome to ensure that your holiday starts off on the right foot.
We hope this article has convinced you to choose a 5-star camping site for your upcoming camping holiday in Vias Plage.
